How We Work
One engagement, end to end: what we take in, what we produce, and what you can check when we are done.
How We Work
Most engagements fail in the same place: between the decision and the evidence that it was carried out. We work in a straight line from what you know to what can be checked.
What we take in
We start with three inputs, and we will not begin without them:
- The driver — the purpose the work serves, in one sentence you would say to your board.
- The constraints — the systems, people and promises that cannot move.
- The definition of done — what must be true for you to call this finished.
If any of the three is missing, gathering it is the first piece of work. An engagement that begins with a vague goal produces a vague deliverable, and no amount of engineering recovers it.
What we produce
| Input | Artefact | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| The driver | a written chain: driver → capabilities → delivery plan | in your repository, not a slide deck |
| The constraints | architecture decisions with the option that lost | docs/decisions/ |
| The definition of done | gates that fail when the work is wrong | the build pipeline |
Everything we produce is a file in your repository with a reviewable history. Nothing important lives in a meeting, a transcript, or a consultant's head.
What you can check when we are done
- The gate is green, or it is not. Every claim about the system comes with a command that proves it.
- The decision record names the alternative. A decision without a rejected option is a preference.
- The work survives our absence. If you cannot run it, change it and explain it without us, we have not finished.
That last one is the whole point. We are not delivering software that needs us; we are delivering a repository your team can operate.
Whether this fits
It fits if you have a driver worth being precise about, and someone who will own the outcome after we leave. It does not fit if the goal is to move fast and sort out correctness later — we would be arguing about verification from the first week.
Tell us the driver, and we will tell you what we would build first.
